The University of Utah has heightened campus safety measures in response to recent incidents involving a man accused of stalking women. Oluwatobi Oludaisi Shokunbi, 34, known as "King Rocky," has reportedly been following women into university housing and was also associated with a threatening event at the University of Utah Hospital, as ABC4 reported.
Contact University Police immediately if Shokunbi is seen, who was last observed at Kahlert Village on Tuesday. Following his arrest for investigation of trespassing, he was released from the Salt Lake County Jail, a release that has kept his current whereabouts unknown, as described in the safety alert. As per KSL, Shokunbi believed to be unhoused, remains a concern for campus security.
Given the proximity of these incidents to student housing, particularly Kahlert Village, a community that houses roughly 1,000 first-year students, the university's precautions underscore the gravity of this arising issue. University Police has distributed a description of Shokunbi as a 6-foot-tall black male with a black and gray beard, weighing 250 pounds, as obtained by KSL Newsradio.
While a release from custody has placed Shokunbi's location in the wind, the University Police's warning remains clear. Members of the university community are urged to remain vigilant, taking caution to report any sightings of him to University Police.
