The Utah Hockey Club, set to slide into their inaugural 2024-25 season this fall, has officially dropped the puck in style, revealing their very first team sweaters. As you might have already corrected your less-informed friends, in hockey, it's sweaters, not jerseys. In what is a nod to hockey culture, the team displayed their new gear in a social media post, turning heads and scoring apparent approval from virtually fans and players alike.
"They're really cool to put on," exclaimed Shane Doan, one of the players, as per KSL Sports. Doan was especially impressed with the club's away sweaters, stating, "It’s a really clean jersey. I know a lot of other guys at the event were pretty impressed with them and they were all big fans." These garbs aren't just for show, they're designed to quickly become an essential identity for the team, simple and clean, yet with colors that are made to straight up pop off the ice.
As a token of the historic season, the sweaters feature a special patch commemorating the team's first dash into the NH. This element was spotlighted when the Utah Hockey Club provided fans with the first look at the threads, according to FOX 13. The team resides in Salt Lake City and will join the Central Division, playing head-to-head with some established giants of the NHL's Western Conference.
Filling the skates of a fully operational team was no easy task, but the Utah Hockey Club has been nothing if not active in its off-season. They swiftly moved to acquire talent like defenseman Mikhail Sergachev and John Marino, and also snatched up prospects Tij Iginla and Cole Beaudoin during the first round of the NHL draft. Their current lineup is a mix of these new trades and draftees, complemented by the former roster of the now-suspended Phoenix Coyotes, as reported by Bleacher Report.
