
An 18-year-old motorcyclist from Pleasant Hill has been tragically killed following a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Wednesday evening, the City of Pleasant Hill reported. The accident occurred at approximately 6:40 PM on Contra Costa Blvd at Dexter Drive, when the northbound motorcycle collided with a vehicle making a left turn from southbound Contra Costa Blvd onto Dexter Drive.
The motorcyclist suffered major injuries as a result of the crash and was transferred to John Muir Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. However, the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash was not injured and stayed on the scene as per the post-accident procedures. The collision resulted in the closure of the northbound lane of Contra Costa Blvd between Massolo Drive and Ellinwood Drive, which was closed for several hours due to the investigative and cleanup efforts. The roadway has since reopened, allowing traffic to return to normal flow.
