Twelve-year-old Braxton Garvin, a student at Avon Middle School South, tragically lost his life in a crash while riding his bike along U.S. Highway 36 over the weekend. The Avon Police Department confirmed that he was struck by a vehicle in an incident that has deeply impacted the local community. Despite being taken to Riley Hospital for Children, he later passed away, WISHTV reports.
Deputy Chief Brian Nugent assured the public that the driver involved in the crash stayed at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. Authorities stated there was no indication that the driver was under the influence at the time of the crash, according to a statement obtained by WISHTV.
