According to FOX59, the police were called to the 5300 block of Culver Street just before 1 a.m. based on reports of a person down. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male victim who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The incident took place not far from East 42nd Street and Emerson Avenue, an area known to locals, but details surrounding the shooting are sparse. An IMPD spokesperson mentioned that the officers were responding to a shooting report and discovered the victim, who was apparent with a gunshot wound, according to WTHR.
