Two suspects wanted in connection with a million-dollar jewelry heist in Nashville, Tennessee, have been arrested in Miami Beach, authorities reported. Milleni Garcia, 38, and Orlando Valdes Hernandez, 34, were apprehended yesterday at the Grand Beach Hotel on Collins Avenue, as confirmed by a joint effort between the Miami Beach Police Department and the Metro Nashville Police Department.
The duo is allegedly responsible for the armed robbery that occurred last week at Dubai Jewelry on Nolensville Pike. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the suspects brandished firearms, threatened employees, and managed to quickly abscond with approximately $1.7 million worth of gold and jewelry. The WSVN.com report noted that a possible third accomplice is still at large.
Miami Beach Police Chief Wayne Jones expressed his department's dedication to interagency cooperation and public safety, stating, "The apprehension of these suspects demonstrates our commitment to supporting other law enforcement agencies and ensuring public safety," according to the WSVN.com report. Jones also commended "my detectives and partners at the Metro Nashville Police Department for their hard work and resolve in bringing these violent offenders to justice." The suspects now await extradition back to Tennessee to face the charges against them.
