An alleged repeat offender in Nashville was arrested this Wednesday following an attempted burglary incident. Edgar Easu, a 36-year-old Nashville resident who was out on bond, has once again caught the attention of the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) for all the wrong reasons. According to a news release from WSMV, the police responded to a commercial burglary alarm at around 2:15 a.m. on Gallatin Pike and discovered a damaged glass door.

The surveillance footage quickly led the police to a possible suspect. After investigating the scene, they managed to swiftly locate a vehicle matching the description caught in the video. WKRN reports that the suspect was seen fleeing in a gray Toyota Tundra, which was registered to a nearby home on Wiley Street. Police found Easu at the residence, allegedly still wearing the same clothes as seen in the surveillance footage and with the vehicle parked in the driveway, its engine still warm.

Authorities have been intimately familiar with Easu due to his past apprehensions for similar offenses. He was arrested in February 2023 on what amounted to 37 burglary-related charges, which remain pending. In a further troubling incident, Easu was convicted in September 2023 after he fired a BB gun at another individual, resulting in an injury to the neck, according to FOX 17. Following this incident, he received a sentence to supervised probation.

A search of Easu's home following his arrest led to the recovery of 13 liquor bottles believed to be stolen from local businesses. "Easu was charged with attempted burglary and possession of burglary tools. He is now jailed on a $75,000 bond. Additional charges are anticipated," MNPD stated, as reported by WSMV. Despite being out on bond since July, Easu's continued alleged involvement in criminal activity has resulted to his re-arrest, and it's presumed that more charges might well be on the way following the ongoing investigation.
