A Nineveh man led the Bartholomew County Sheriff's deputies on a high-speed chase that carried over into Brown County, culminating in the suspect's vehicle colliding with a police cruiser. According to a press release from the sheriff's office, the man identified as 30-year-old Brock Thompson faced multiple preliminary charges.
The pursuit was set off when a deputy spotted Thompson driving a silver Hyundai recklessly at approximately 5:04 p.m. Thursday, on North U.S. Highway 31., stated FOX59. Despite attempts to conduct a traffic stop near the highway’s intersection with Lowell Road, Thompson reportedly did not comply and continued southbound.
Brown County became the chase's final stage, ending when Thompson's vehicle collided near the intersection of Upper Salt Creek Road and Petro Drive. In the statement obtained by WKKG, the sheriff's department confirmed that fortunately, no injuries occurred due to the crash.
Following the incident, officers discovered narcotics and paraphernalia inside Thompson's Hyundai. Thompson was removed from the vehicle and detained, as reported by The Bridge FM. He was then taken to a local hospital for necessary clearances and an operating while intoxicated investigation.
Charges against Thompson include resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, criminal recklessness, operating while intoxicated causing endangerment, possession of a syringe, and possession of methamphetamine.
