Convicted serial rapist, Kenneth Bogard's bid for parole, was denied after a hearing that could have seen him released significantly earlier than his original 96-year sentence prescribed. Bogard, now 67, has spent the last 30 years incarcerated for a series of brutal attacks in the Pacific Beach community during the early 1990s, according to the San Diego County District Attorney's Office.
Despite the possibility of early release due to elderly parole provisions, which allow inmates over 50 who've served at least 20 years to be considered for parole, Bogard will remain behind bars. Bogard was convicted by a jury in 1995 on 37 felony counts, including multiple counts of residential burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, sexual battery, and rape. Between August 1992 and October 1993, Bogard executed a calculated reign of terror, stalking his victims, breaking into their homes, and forcing them to perform sex acts at knifepoint.
Following the decision made at the parole hearing conducted at the Correctional Training Facility in Soledad, California, Deputy District Attorney John Cross, who leads the DA's Lifer Hearing Unit, indicated that the Board of Parole Hearings will not set a new parole hearing for Bogard for at least three more years, Hoodline reported.
