
Tragedy struck early this morning in Saratoga Springs as a 75-year-old woman lost her life in a collision with a vehicle. Reports from the Utah County Sheriff's Office indicate the incident occurred near the intersection of Cozy Lane and Floribunda Drive. The pedestrian was attempting to cross the street when she was hit by a car making a turn.
The woman sustained critical injuries from the impact. Emergency responders from the Saratoga Springs Police and Fire Department were swiftly on the scene to administer aid, going so far as to perform CPR in hopes of dramatically improving her chances of survival. Despite their efforts, the woman succumbed to her injuries shortly after being airlifted to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray.
The driver involved in the accident, a 44-year-old resident of Saratoga Springs, stayed at the scene and is said to have cooperated with law enforcement officials. Since the driver is a city employee, the Saratoga Springs Police solicited the services of the Utah County Sheriff's Office for an unbiased investigation into the crash. This move was to ensure that there would be no conflict of interest in the proceedings.
