Brick-and-mortar retail is expanding for Wayfair, as the online furniture giant prepares to open a new outlet in Naperville, a suburb of Chicago. Scheduled for launch this Thursday, October 3, the discount furniture store will grace Westridge Court at 324 S. Route 59, ready to provide customers with a variety of returned and discounted items in good condition, cite an announcement from Wayfair's spokesperson.
The Naperville outlet is reported to cover a substantial 23,000 square feet, positioning itself as a major retail player in the area. According to a statement obtained by NBC Chicago, shoppers can look forward to perusing a diverse range of product categories at the new venue. Hours of operation for this latest entry in Wayfair's ongoing physical retail expansion are slated to be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
This establishment joins the ranks of other Wayfair outlet locations in Kentucky, Texas, New York, and North Carolina. Echoing the online retailer's policy, the Naperville outlet will institute a final sale policy for all purchases with the exception of appliances, as noted on the company's website. In congruence with modern retailing practices, no cash transactions will be accepted and customers will be responsible for transporting their purchases, though staff will aid in transferring items to a designated pickup area.
Looking forward, Wayfair has indicated that customers will soon have the convenience to browse the inventory of its Naperville store via an e-catalog, although currently, products are available exclusively for in-store purchase, a situation that emphasizes the company's brick-and-mortar aspirations alongside its established online presence. The Naperville store is the latest addition following Wayfair's first physical store in Wilmette, a 150,000-square-foot retail space that boasts a unique on-site restaurant offering beer and wine, a detail highlighted in a report by NBC Chicago.
