
The Chicago Police Department has issued a community alert following a series of business burglaries in the 003rd District, Grand Crossing area. According to the CPD, these incidents occurred in early November, with burglars forcibly entering businesses and swiftly absconding with stolen items. Local business owners and residents are urged to stay vigilant and report any questionable incidents to law enforcement.
The first reported burglary took place on the 400 Block of East 75th Street on November 2nd around midnight, and a second break-in was on the 200 Block of East 75th Street on November 8th at approximately 4:25 AM, both events share a similar pattern of forced entry and quick escape, which suggests a connection between the two incidents; the Chicago Police encourages everyone to be extra cautious in the area. Police have described the perpetrators as two unknown males wearing dark clothing, gloves, and masks according to the CPD's alert.
Authorities are advising community members to practice safety measures such as being constantly aware of their surroundings and reporting any suspicious activities immediately to the police. In an event where an individual encounters an assailant, it is advised to remain composed and attempt to recall any distinct physical characteristics, which could assist in the identification of the suspects.
