The Chicago Police Department has released a community alert seeking assistance in identifying and locating a vehicle involved in a serious hit-and-run incident. According to police, the event occurred on the evening of Tuesday, November 26, 2024, and left a pedestrian with critical injuries.
The collision took place in the West Pullman neighborhood, specifically on the 12700 block of South Halsted Street. A white Honda Pilot, model years 2009 to 2011, is reported to have struck the pedestrian around 6:14 p.m. The vehicle in question, which bore a Wisconsin Wholesaler license plate, WH1861G at the time, immediately fled the location following the incident.
A notable feature of the suspect's vehicle is a yellow bumper sticker with the message, "Delivery Vehicle Makes Frequent Stops." The alert issued by the Chicago Police Department includes this detail potentially aiding in the identification of the vehicle, which may have changed plates since the occurrence of the hit-and-run.
Law enforcement is urging the public if anyone has information about the whereabouts of the vehicle, to contact 911 with details on the location and, if it's on the move, the direction of travel. The public is cautioned not to approach the vehicle or its occupants but rather to leave it to professionals. Critical in ensuring the safety of our streets is the prompt and cautious response to such public alerts.
