A former music teacher at Avon schools has been charged with multiple felonies relating to child pornography and solicitation, following allegations he shared explicit material with minors. Kayvon Emtiaz, 28, was arrested and has since been released on bond, according to court records obtained by WISHTV. Avon police launched the investigation after receiving a CyberTip linked to Emtiaz's social media activity in early September.
Documents unearthed during the police inquiry revealed Emtiaz had been engaging in sexual communications with at least two underage girls, though it was not specified if them were students from Avon schools. In a conversation with authorities, Emtiaz conceded to having such conversations with minors, although he claimed not to recall the details. He purported to only save pictures of individuals he believed were "of age," as detailed in WISHTV's report.
Further investigation conducted by Avon police, stemming from a cyber tipoff by Snapchat, revealed that a "person of trust" was allegedly downloading child pornography in the local area. Search warrants issued for two Snapchat accounts linked to Emtiaz, "kavman105" and "fiftyshadedaddy," brought to light explicit videos of a man, confirmed to be Emtiaz via his Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) photo, pleasuring himself in a setting resembling a music classroom. The findings also included repugnant videos of underage girls saved for his own use, according to information published by New York Post.
According to documents, Emtiaz represented himself as a "28yo naughty teacher who fantasizes about his students all of the time," in messages to 13-year-old girls. He described lurid scenarios and confirmed his Indiana location, as reported by Fox59. Emtiaz's tenure at three Avon district schools spanned from 2019 to 2023, and his license to teach vocal and general music had lapsed in August prior to the arrest.
Emtiaz now faces a total of 14 charges, including child solicitation, possession of child pornography, and vicarious sexual gratification. The court proceedings follow in the wake of these serious allegations as the legal system processes the engagement between Emtiaz and the minors he is accused of victimizing.
