A wave of excitement hit the Midwest this week as Powerball tickets sold in Indianapolis and a small Wisconsin town each won $500,000. The tickets matched four out of five white balls plus the Powerball in Monday's drawing, according to lottery officials.
For the Indianapolis winner, the fortunate purchase took place at My Gas Station 3, situated at 3360 W. 16th St., FOX59 reported.
WTHR informed readers that the winner's decision to utilize the Power Play option, applied as '10X', bulged the standard $50,000 prize to a hefty half a million dollars.
Meanwhile, a similar stroke of luck struck in Wisconsin, where another $500,000 ticket was sold, as reported by B105 Country.
Powerball has advised winners to keep their tickets in a secure place and consult a financial advisor. For claim instructions, Hoosier Lottery customer service can be reached at 1-800-955-6886.
The estimated jackpot for Powerball has since climbed to $75 million for the following Wednesday's drawing. On Monday, the jackpot was at $65 million.
