An Instagram post from the company's account today revealed that their Bird Road, Kendall, and Coral Gables locations are set to close on November 15, as first reported by Local 10. Despite the impending closure, patrons can still grab their favorite doughnuts and chicken until the specified date, during the usual operating hours.
In an intimate post shared that resonated with its followers, Mojo Donuts expressed gratitude toward its customers, "We’re beyond grateful for the love and support from each of you — you’ve made every donut, every smile, and every day at Mojo unforgettable," as seen on their Instagram page. The company urged customers to visit the stores to enjoy the last days of Mojo in Miami. However, their Pembroke Pines location will continue to stay in business.
The news has certainly created a wave of disappointment among the locals. Mojo Donuts isn't just another doughnut shop—it has been recognized as a winner at the second annual Donuts! Festival in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood in 2017, and its unique flavors and quality brought it into the limelight and the hearts of doughnut aficionados across the region.
Notably, while the shuttering marks the end of an era in Miami, Mojo Donuts will maintain its presence in Hollywood, Florida, under different ownership. This was confirmed by Jimmy Piedrahita of Mojo Donuts, who was instrumental in bringing the acclaimed doughnut shop from Broward to Miami-Dade County in 2016. He expressed the bittersweet news to the Miami New Times, stating that the company's expansion to Miami-Dade County helped catapult them to success, attracting fans that included celebrities like Guy Fieri and Jennifer Lopez.
