Coral Springs coffee aficionados have a new haunt to frequent with the opening of Downtown Espresso, a café that mixes Latin zing with French flair. Taking over the space at 3111 N University Drive, formerly Lady in the Mug, this new spot offers a culinary twist to the town's bustling café scene. According to a report by TAPinto, the owner, Juan Carlos "JC" Fernandez, layers his menu offerings with favorites such as lattes and irresistible frappes and showcases savory bites including chicken salad sandwiches.
Downtown Espresso fuels its patrons with caffeine and caters to their sweet tooth. Fernandez boasts about his chocolate cake, calling it "the best chocolate cake in South Florida" in an interview with CoralTap, while also treating his customers to an ever-changing selection of quiche-based desserts and more. Having taken over the location, the café extends the previous locale's hospitality, with a twist of its own culinary style.

But Downtown Espresso doesn't just stop at coffee and cakes. Town heroes like first responders are welcomed with open arms and served free Americano coffee daily—a gesture of community support by Fernandez. "We’ll keep changing everything, so there’s something different every week," Fernandez told TAPinto. He adds, "I want people to come here, have a great coffee and have something else that’s special."
Downtown Espresso is located in Coral Springs and is open daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. It offers a unique coffee experience with multicultural flavors.
