In an early morning response to a potential threat, all schools within the Noblesville district called off classes for today. The decision came after a video surfaced on social media, pinpointing East Middle School with threats of violence. Superintendent Dr. Daniel G. Hile communicated the news to students and families, emphasizing the district's priority on safety. According to an email obtained by WRTV, Hile stated, "At Noblesville Schools, safety is our top priority, and we are committed to taking appropriate action to protect the health and wellbeing of the students, staff, and community that we serve."

This move comes as an echo of the past, recalling an incident from over six years ago when a 13-year-old student opened fire at Noblesville West Middle School. While there is no current belief that the threat presents a credible danger, officials are proceeding with caution. "Our team will spend today continuing to work with our law enforcement partners and other appropriate agencies to further investigate this threat, and also ensure the continued safety of every one of our schools," Hile told WISH-TV.

Law enforcement was alerted to the problematic video overnight, prompting immediate collaboration with school authorities to assess and react to the situation. Noblesville Police Department's Lt. Bruce Barns conveyed to WTHR that, based on information available, the threat didn't seem credible. Despite these assurances, the investigation remains active.

"For that reason, and out of an overabundance of caution, I am cancelling school today, Tuesday, November 26th, for all schools," Hile's statement, which points to a non-e-learning day in light of the situation. Hile told WTHR.
