The Oceanside Police Department announced this morning that 11-year-old Carter Jackson, who was reported missing, has been found and is now safely back with his family. Earlier in the day, considerable concern was for the child's welfare. The police had asked for the public's assistance in finding the boy, who was last seen on the morning of November 5th on the 2000 block of California Street in Oceanside.
A detailed description of Carter was circulated widely. He was marked by his dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, and the outfit he was last spotted wearing—a black hat, a black and white shirt, and black pants and shoes. Standing 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 100 pounds, the plea to find Carter was urgent.
The initial request for public assistance was issued less than a day ago, underscoring the swift response from the Oceanside authorities and the community in situations involving at-risk juveniles. "Authorities have issued a call to the public to assist in locating a missing juvenile considered to be at risk," said the report on Hoodline.
Oceanside Police did not provide additional information about the circumstances of Carter's disappearance or his condition upon being found, save to confirm his safety and reunion with his family. The full social media statement can be read at the Oceanside Police Department's post.
