A recent stabbing death has enveloped the Grant Hill neighborhood in tragedy, following an altercation that ended with the loss of 36-year-old Moises Duarte of San Diego. The San Diego Police Department responded to reports of the fight last Friday, near the cross streets of 27th and L, finding Duarte with a stab wound and head trauma, as noted by the official city website. Despite being administered CPR at the scene, Duarte succumbed to his injuries.

Emilio Torres Valencia, 37, and his 17-year-old son were arrested about the incident. According to San Diego's official city website, Valencia was hospitalized for injuries sustained during the altercation before being booked into County Jail, while his son was taken to Juvenile Hall. As the investigation unfolds, police have yet to charge the two, releasing them from custody as they continue to meticulously gather evidence.

The Homicide Unit of the San Diego Police Department is leading the investigation into the events that led to Duarte's death. It has been learned that there was a prior altercation between the victim and one of the suspects related to an act of vandalism at the same location about a month ago which was not reported. The ongoing feud reignited when the two parties encountered each other once more, as stated in a report by Hoodline.

The scuffle resulted in the suspects' vehicle being vandalized, which then crashed into a power pole. Also caught up in the incident was Duarte's 15-year-old son, who was on the scene but later released to the custody of his mother without charges.
