Three individuals sustained injuries early Thursday morning during a shooting incident in Englewood, Chicago. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the violence erupted shortly before 2 a.m. as the trio was situated in an alley located in the 5500 block of South Ada Street. Among the wounded, a 23-year-old man suffered severe bodily injuries and was promptly admitted to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.
The other two victims, a 23-year-old female, and a 26-year-old male, were injured in their legs. They managed to get themselves to St. Bernard Hospital, where they were reported to be in good condition. At present, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, leaving law enforcement officials to investigate the scene in an attempt to piece together the events that led to this incident.
According to a report by ABC7 Chicago, the individuals were standing in an alley when an unidentified assailant unleashed a series of gunshots.
Chicago Police Department's Area One detectives are actively investigating the circumstances of the shooting.
