Three individuals have been charged in connection with a string of burglaries and thefts across Chicago, according to a recent report from the Chicago Police Department. Samir Marogail, 34, of Chicago, Yong Suk Lee, 35, of Palatine, Illinois, and Timothy Blaze, 34, of Westville, Indiana, were implicated in the crimes following their arrest on Monday afternoon.
Detained during a police operation in the 2000 block of N. Milwaukee, the suspects face multiple felony counts each. Marogail leads with five felony counts of burglary and three counts of theft, while Lee and Blaze face two and one felony burglary counts, respectively, as well as additional theft charges. As reported by the Chicago Police Department, the group was identified as the parties responsible for a recent burglary at a gas station on N. Sheridan, amongst other incidents.
The Chicago Police Department's statement also details prior incidents connected to these individuals, with Marogail and Lee linked to burglaries on October 19 and November 3 in the 6400 block of W. Belmont and 3200 block of N. Pulaski, respectively. Marogail alone is connected to additional incidents dating back to August 16 and September 27. The suspects were processed and remain in custody pending a detention hearing that was held at the 2600 S. California court.
Timothy Blaze faces a unique charge amongst the trio: possession of methamphetamine under 5 grams. The circumstances surrounding their arrest, undertaken at 2:07 p.m., include the discovery of evidence linking them to the aforementioned crimes. Although placed into custody without further incident, no additional information has been released at present by the authorities. The detention hearing occurred yesterday, as outlined by the official statement of the Chicago Police Department.
