A devastating fire in Alexandria has claimed the life of a man and inflicted minor injuries on two firefighters, as reported by the Alexandria Fire Department. The incident occurred yesterday morning in a residence where, according to the WRTV, smoke and flames were seen emanating from a home, and a 911 call indicated that while four individuals managed to evacuate, a man remained trapped inside.
Suffering from smoke inhalation, the four individuals who evacuated were later transported to a local hospital, as the Alexandria Fire Department swiftly responded to the scene shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Marion Avenue. Venturing inside, firefighters discovered the trapped man in a back bedroom, who, tragically, was pronounced dead at the scene.
