The Chicago Police Department has issued a business alert concerning a string of commercial burglaries across several districts. Businesses situated in the 001st, 008th, 009th, 012th, 014th, 016th, 017th, 019th, and 25th Districts have been targeted by unknown offenders who have been breaking into establishments by shattering front glass doors or side windows.

Once inside, these criminals focus on looting cash boxes, safes, and registers before making their escape in an array of vehicles including a Black Nissan Altima, Gray Infiniti G37, Dark Nissan Rogue, White Infiniti M35, and an Orange Nissan Rogue, according to the Chicago Police Department's official website. The incidents have occurred over a period of time and across a variety of locations, starting from the 1500 block of N Ashland Ave and spanning to the 2300 block of S Western Ave.

Listed incident dates commence as follows, with multiple occurrences reported at the same addresses indicating a brazen repeat offense pattern, beginning on October 26, 2024, and with the most recent burglaries taking place on Monday. Notably, several incidents were clustered on November 26, 2024, suggesting a spree of criminal activity on that day.

The CPD has described the suspects: four to five males wearing dark clothing, with their faces obscured by masks and gloves. The alert urges businesses to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity immediately. Furthermore, they recommend ensuring that surveillance cameras are operational and recording. In the event of encountering a crime, they caution against pursuing the suspects and instead advise providing all valuable information to the police. They also emphasize the importance of gathering contact details from any witnesses.

As these burglaries continue to unsettle the business community of Chicago, the police department continues urging local businesses to take additional security measures to protect against potential threats.
