Two teenagers have been found shot to death in separate incidents, just hours apart. A 15-year-old boy was discovered unresponsive inside an Englewood home on Tuesday morning, with a fatal gunshot wound to his head. According to ABC7 Chicago, the shooting occurred in the 6700 block of South Parnell Avenue and the young victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances behind the Englewood shooting are unclear as investigations continue. Meanwhile, in a disturbingly similar incident, a 14-year-old was found shot and killed a mere 12-hour span apart in the Little Village neighborhood; this teen succumbed to a gunshot wound to the chest in an apartment building along the 2200 block of South Christiana Avenue with police left searching for leads, and no arrests have been made in either case. As reported by CBS News Chicago, there is no noted connection between the two tragic deaths at this time.

CPD Area One detectives have taken up the case of the Englewood shooting, diving deep into the investigation of the 15-year-old's death as a homicide.
