
A 29-year-old Cicero man has been charged with the murder of a 62-year-old male, following a fatal shooting incident in the 4000 block of W. Monroe St. Gad Hughes, of the 1800 block of S 48th Ct., faces one felony count of first-degree murder and one felony count of possession of heroin between 100 to 400 grams, as reported by the Chicago Police Department.
Hughes was apprehended on November 29, 2024, and authorities identified him as the shooter who struck down the 62-year-old victim in the 11th District. According to police accounts, the offender was quickly taken into custody and has now been formally charged. Hughes is to quickly appear for a detention hearing at the Cook County Criminal Courthouse located at 2600 S. California.
The pertinent information regarding the incident and subsequent arrest was made available in an official statement published by the Chicago Police on December 1st, detailing the charges against Hughes.
