
According to El Paso Fire Department officials, a fire broke out at a home near Armijo Park in Central El Paso yesterday morning. The blaze was first reported in the 900 block of Ochoa St. at approximately 10:15 a.m. and was under control by 11:10 a.m., as KTSM reported. The incident, described as a condition two house fire, elicited a response from 11 fire department units.
While combating the flames, firefighters contained the fire to the attic of the building where it originally sparked. Firefighters were on the scene quickly, ensuring the fire did not spread to surrounding areas. This information comes from a spokesperson from the El Paso Fire Department, as mentioned by KFOX. The cause of the fire has been reported as materials catching alight during roof repair works carried out by the building's landlord.
As a result of the fire, three individuals have been displaced and are currently being assisted by the Red Cross, as per information shared by the El Paso Fire Department and covered by KTSM. The fire has been deemed unintentional, attributed to a heat source or open flame close to combustible items."
