Within this quarter, four facilities in particular faced "AA" citations, each fined $50,000 as these specific violations are categorized at the top of the severity chart because they have been identified as the proximate cause for at least one resident's demise and among these, ALIYA on 87th not only faced this severe financial penalty but also was fined an additional $25,000 for a separate "A" violation, which when combined hiked their cumulative fine up to $75,000.
Alongside ALIYA, Alden Lakeland Rehabilitation & Health Care Center grappled with an identical $50,000 fine for their part in compromising resident safety, while Allure of Pinecrest in Mount Morris encountered a $50,000 penalty for an "AA" violation and an additional $2,200 for a "B" violation, tallying their total fines to $52,200. St. Paul's Senior Community was also subjected to a financial repercussion of $50,000, underscoring the grave consequences of neglect and carelessness within such facilities.
