McIntosh, who was last seen in the vicinity of 18 East Caven Street on the near south side of Indianapolis, stands at 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs approximately 145 pounds, and has brown hair and blue eyes. According to the IMPD, he frequents the southeast side of Indianapolis yet might visit other parts of the city as well.

In a statement obtained by FOX59, authorities mentioned that John McIntosh may be contending with mental health issues, and could require urgent medical assistance. The IMPD emphasizes the importance of calling 911 immediately if he is located. In recent endeavors, local police have not only sought the public's assistance through the media, but have also considered the dynamics of alerts such as Amber Alerts for children and Silver Alerts for missing and endangered adults or children, though McIntosh's case has not triggered such alerts at this time.
