
A 22-year-old man was critically injured early Friday morning in a drive-by shooting in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side, as reported by the Chicago Sun-Times. The man was on a sidewalk in the 4800 block of South Ashland Avenue, around 2:00 A.M., when he was targeted by assailants in a gray SUV who opened fire, wounding him multiple times in the chest.
Chicago police stated that the victim was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he remains in critical condition. Detectives from Area 1 are actively investigating the incident, yet no arrests have been reported. The identity of the victim has not been released.
