The Greenfield Police Department has successfully located Stephanie Richardson, a woman who had been missing since September. Richardson, who had last been in contact with her family in July, was described as a 5’4″, 230-pound Black woman with gray/black hair and brown eyes, reported FOX59.
Richardson was last known to be in the Indianapolis area in late September, and she has previously stayed near the S&H Campground in Hancock County. The search for Richardson came to a close when Greenfield police confirmed her safe location yesterday night, only a few hours after issuing a missing person alert. The alert had been raised around 5 p.m. yesterday, and approximately two hours later, the department reported her safety, according to WTHR.
The initial report came from Richardson's sister who had approached the police with concerns about Stephanie's disappearance. An extensive investigation ensued, involving local authorities and the community in efforts to trace her last known steps. Before she was found, authorities and the sister had engaged the public’s assistance, with calls for anyone with information to come forward.
While no further details about her whereabouts during the missing period were released, the Greenfield Police has emphasized the value of community vigilance and timely reporting in cases of missing persons. Anyone with information on such cases is still encouraged to contact the Hancock County 911 Center or submit anonymous tips online, as reiterated by WRTV.
