Two young individuals, a 15-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man, were victims of a drive-by shooting Thursday morning in Chicago's South Shore neighborhood. According to WGN-TV, the incident occurred around 11:15 a.m. on the 7400 block of South Yates when the pedestrians were targeted by gunfire from a gray sedan.
The 15-year-old girl was hit in the hip, and the 18-year-old man was struck in the leg and hand. The young man was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, and reported to be in fair condition, while the condition of the girl was believed to be non-life-threatening as reported by the Chicago Fire Department. No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting, and Area 1 detectives are leading the investigation into the incident.
