In Tennessee, the aftermath of Tropical Storm Helene has prompted the setting up of multiple Farmer Recovery Centers designed to assist those in the agricultural sector affected by the storm. Announced by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture, these centers will bring forth a united front of federal, state, and local resources to provide both technical and financial support for farm recovery.

The scheduled events across several counties, including Carter, Cocke, Greene, Hamblen, Hawkins, Johnson, Unicoi, and Washington, are tailor-made for farmers, farm workers, and agri-businesses seeking aid specific to their needs. These counties have been identified as eligible for additional agricultural assistance. The centers will be operational from 9:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. EST, providing extended opportunities for those who may have weekday commitments to also be able to partake in the assistance offered.

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture has clarified the lineup: the USDA Service Center in Greeneville is set to host the event on Wednesday, located at 214 N College Street, followed by the Blountville USDA Service Center on Thursday at 2942 Highway 394. Lastly, the Cherry Grove Baptist Church in Jonesborough will serve as the venue on Friday, situated at 104 Cherry Grove Road, as per the official announcement.

At these centers, individuals can interact with representatives from an array of support agencies, including the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the University of Tennessee Ag Extension, Tennessee State University Ag Extension, and the U.S. Small Business Administration, each of them will be available to explain the types of support available and provide guidance on accessing these resources, marking a critical step for many in the path to recovery.
