Two 18-year-old men have been arrested and charged in connection with an aggravated vehicular hijacking in Chicago, according to an official statement released by the Chicago Police Department. The individuals, identified as David Brantley and Tayvon Andrews, are facing a series of felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from the Sunday incident.

In the pursuit that followed the alleged crime, Brantley was slapped with additional charges, including aggravated fleeing and possessing a stolen vehicle. Andrews is similarly charged with possessing a stolen vehicle and misdemeanor resisting. The pair are scheduled to have their detention hearing today at a courthouse located at 2600 S. California.

The incident took place around 8:45 p.m. on December 8, when a 25-year-old male reported that his vehicle was taken at gunpoint. According to police, they located Brantley and Andrews in the vicinity of the 0-100 block of W. 87th St. shortly after the hijacking report came from the 800 block of W. Blackhawk.

Upon their apprehension less than an hour after the event, the authorities were able to quickly establish Brantley and Andrews as the suspects. After being placed into custody, the two were "subsequently charged accordingly," as per the Chicago Police Department’s report. No further details have been released concerning the circumstances of the hijacking or the subsequent capture of the suspects.
