
Residents of the Uptown neighborhood are on alert after a recent theft in the area. The Chicago Police Department has released a community alert regarding a package theft in an apartment building lobby in the 24th District, which includes Rogers Park. According to the Chicago Police Department, video surveillance captured an individual who is not a resident of the building, stealing a package that belonged to someone else.
The incident took place at 3600 N Winthrop on November 26, between 2:00 P.M. and 4:35 P.M. The suspect is described as a male, Black, wearing a gray jacket and gray winter hat. Detectives believe the offender lives in the nearby vicinity, hinting at the local nature of the crime. Residents are being urged to claim their deliveries promptly to avoid similar incidents.
Area Three Detectives are actively seeking to identify the suspect and have appealed to the public for assistance. They advise locals to always be aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity by dialing 9-1-1 immediately. Following the assailant is not recommended for safety reasons. The community is encouraged to help the police by providing any information they may have about the theft or the suspect.
