An Ogden, Utah man is facing multiple charges after a domestic violence incident escalated into a horrific act of violence on Friday night. Gregory Youngblood, 57, has been accused of dousing a woman with gasoline, setting her on fire, and then strangling her before fleeing from the scene, as per ABC4. The police have since apprehended Youngblood on the grounds of aggravated arson, aggravated assault resulting in serious bodily injury, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
As reported by KUTV, the harrowing emergency call during which officers could hear a woman, suffering severe burns to her face, chest, shoulder, and arm, screaming in the background. Upon arrival, they found her standing in the street, marking a clear and violent breach of the sanctities of home and bodily autonomy.
Further investigation by law enforcement led them to Riverdale. Utilizing cellphone data, police were able to track down and arrest Youngblood, who was taken into custody by the Weber-Morgan Narcotics Strike Force team. According to KSL, upon his arrest, officers found a glass pipe on his person, "commonly used to smoke methamphetamine."
