The City of Carmel is launching a new initiative to empower women and girls with the She L.E.A.D.S. 2025 Mayor’s Conference. Hosted by Mayor Sue Finkam, the event will take place on Feb. 20 at the 502 East Event Centre.

According to the City of Carmel Newsletter, the conference aims to support the development of women and middle school-aged girls through activities and discussions on Leadership, Empowerment, Advancement, Development, and Service.

Mayor Finkam highlighted the importance of such platforms, stating, “Women and young girls are the backbone of a thriving community. She L.E.A.D.S. is a call to action to empower today’s women and equip tomorrow’s leaders. By fostering connections, providing resources, and showcasing women as role models, we ensure Carmel remains a place where all generations of women can thrive and lead," in a statement obtained by the City of Carmel.
