Indianapolis Police Seek Witnesses After Juvenile Injured in Targeted Apartment ShootingSource: Google Street View

Early this morning, a juvenile was injured in a shooting incident at a north side Indianapolis apartment complex. According to the FOX59 report, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded shortly after 3:20 a.m. to reports of a person shot at 2100 Waterford Place. IMPD officers discovered a juvenile male with a gunshot wound upon their arrival; he was then transported to St. Vincent Hospital and was listed in stable condition.

The police believe this shooting was not random. "Unfortunately we do not have any witness at this time," CAPT. Don Weilhammer said, seeking information from the public in a statement obtained by FOX59. "So, we are looking or anyone who might have seen this happen and can give us any type of description or the person or persons involved and a vehicle description."

In a WRTV report, the details of the incident echoed those of the initial reports, noting the targeted nature of the shooting and the lack of a suspect at this time. The juvenile victim was inside an apartment when someone fired shots into the dwelling, making the act appear intentional.

Further investigation is ongoing as IMPD looks for witnesses and information that could lead to an arrest. "IMPD is looking for anyone who saw the shooting or knows what happened," as per a report by WISH-TV. No arrests have been made yet, and the authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Community members with information regarding the shooting are encouraged to contact IMPD directly at (317) 327-3475 or to leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS (8477). "I’d like to take this opportunity to stress we need the public’s help with this," Weilhammer emphasized on FOX59.
