The Grant County Sheriff's Office in Marion, Indiana, recently detailed a drug trafficking arrest involving two suspects. The arrests occurred on Wednesday, after a traffic stop led to the discovery of narcotics in the vehicle, according to the Grant County Sheriff's Office official Facebook page.
The suspects, Nathan R. Strasser, 42, and Ashlee Crews, 32, were found with approximately 27.7 grams of fentanyl and two syringes. The traffic stop occurred near Gas City, IN, where a Police K9 was used to search the red Dodge Dakota, leading to the discovery of illegal substances. Both were taken to the Grant County Jail.
Strasser, who was out on bond for a previous drug-related felony, faces new charges including Possession of Cocaine or Narcotic Drug with Intent to Deliver, a Level 2 Felony, and Unlawful Possession of a Syringe, a Level 6 Felony. Crews faces charges including Possession of Cocaine or Narcotic Drug with Intent to Deliver, Unlawful Possession of a Syringe, and Identity Deception, all Level 6 Felonies. Crews had been on probation in Grant County, awaiting a reassessment later in the year.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are asking the public for any information related to drug trafficking. The Sheriff's Office also reminded the public, "All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law."
