North Bend is about to get a little cooler this weekend. In a splurge of community giving, the North Bend Ice Skating Rink has teamed up with Marathon Rewards to offer a Free Ice-Skating Weekend. Skating enthusiasts and novices alike can swing by 2040 Union Ave to get their glide on from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on January 18 and, an hour later, warm up to the ice from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM the following day.
Walking into the event with no entrance fee hanging over their heads, visitors can expect to see skates flying off the shelves, which are also gratuitously provided by Marathon Rewards. As per the City of North Bend, Stephanie Wilson, the City of North Bend's Community Development Manager, underscored the level of excitement, "This event is the perfect opportunity for families, friends, and individuals of all ages to create lasting memories, try something new, and visit with each other, all while experiencing the joy of ice skating at no cost!"
The rink will be alive with upbeat tunes and a bundle of on-site activities, ensuring a lively atmosphere. According to the City of North Bend's official website, the event is touted as "Fun for All Ages," promising a swirl of festivity irrespective of one's skating prowess or age.
