An officer-involved shooting occurred in Peru, Indiana, early Monday morning at a mobile home park on State Rd. 19 near US 24. Indiana State Police confirmed a trooper was involved in the shooting, as per the WTHR.
No officers were injured, but one suspect was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, according to WRTV. Two people were arrested outside the residence following an investigation, but officers are still uncertain if there are more suspects inside. The scene remains active as authorities continue their examination.
A manhunt was launched in the area, with authorities searching a nearby wooded area for additional suspects. Police warned that a potentially armed suspect may still be barricaded, as FOX 59 reported.
