Residents of Antioch faced a violent disruption on the tranquil backdrop of Gentrytown Park last week when an armed robbery escalated into a shooting. The Antioch Police Department has released information on an incident that occurred on Sunday detailing a confrontation that left one person shot and in critical condition. According to the Antioch Police Department, officers were called to the 2800 block of Carmona Way at approximately 12:43 PM.

Upon arrival at the scene, the officers found the wounded victim and provided medical aid until Contra Costa Fire personnel arrived. It was reported that the victim was subsequently transported to a local hospital and is now said to be in critical but stable condition. Before fleeing with the victim's belongings, the suspects, who remain at large, engaged with the victim in a struggle before one suspect shot him multiple times.

The suspects have been described as a Hispanic male adult and a Black male adult, both in their late teens to early twenties. With no arrests made thus far, the Antioch Police's Investigations Bureau is actively investigating the case.
