According to an official announcement, a special council meeting held on December 26, 2024, witnessed a unanimous vote by the Mayor and Council for Sardiñas' appointment, and she officially took office during a ceremony yesterday. Surrounded by city officials, loved ones, and peers, Sardiñas expressed her commitment to the city's future, stating, “Together, we will continue to advance a city that honors its rich cultural heritage while embracing the promise of tomorrow. "Thank you for this incredible opportunity to serve. I look forward to working alongside each of you to create a stronger, more prosperous future for Doral," Sardiñas said in the ceremony, as mentioned by the City of Doral.
