
Tragedy struck Anderson yesterday morning when a woman was killed and two others injured after a shooting incident, followed by a car crash. The Anderson Police Department responded to reports around 3 a.m. at Sonny Ray's Café, 1536 S. Madison Ave., where they discovered one female victim injured in the street and another near a home close by, FOX59 reports.
Later, a third woman involved in the incident checked herself into a local hospital after being struck by a car in the aftermath of the shooting. The woman initially found in the road was subsequently pronounced dead at an Indianapolis hospital, and was identified on Feb. 3 by the Marion County Coroner's Office as 26-year-old Dayla Swain, WTHR notes.
Investigation into the incident is ongoing, and authorities have not made any arrests related to the case. Anderson PD is actively seeking information from the public and encourages anyone with knowledge of the shooting to reach out. Details are sparse, but the Anderson PD promises to release more information as the case develops.
