
On the evening of Thursday, an 18-year-old was shot in Indianapolis on the west side, triggering an investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. According to FOX59, the incident occurred at approximately 8:43 p.m. in the 8800 block of Timberwood Drive upon which officers responded to the area following reports of the shooting.
In the aftermath shooting, the young victim, whose identity was not released, had to be rushed to the hospital. Though details regarding a possible suspect or what sparked the violence remain scant, the individual was described as being in "stable" condition, WTHR has reported. The nebulous contours of motive and means, a specter haunting the city's west side, hangs over the community as they await answers.
The IMPD has not released any additional information regarding the shooting and continues to actively investigate the circumstances leading up to the incident. They have not yet provided insight on whether this shooting is connected to any larger pattern of violence in the area or if it was an isolated event.
