A fatal confrontation in West Park has led to the arrest of a 50-year-old man on charges of second-degree murder with a firearm, following the shooting death of a 51-year-old. The victim, identified as Brannon Graham of Hallandale Beach, was shot just before 8:30 p.m. yesterday near the 4000 block of Pembroke Road. According to the Broward Sheriff's Office (BSO), the incident stemmed from an argument that turned violent, Local 10 News reported.

BSO deputies and Hollywood Fire Rescue were prompt to respond to a call about the shooting, upon their arrival, they found Graham suffering from a gunshot wound. He was swiftly transported to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he consequently succumbed to his injuries. The suspect, Melchior Warren, initially fled the scene but was detained by detectives later that evening, with jail records confirming his incarceration without bond at the Broward County Main Jail.

Subsequent to the fatal encounter, the BSO's Homicide Unit began a rigorous investigation. As per reports from NBC Miami, a subject has been detained following the use of investigative methods by detectives. BSO has yet to disclose further details as they maintain that the investigation is active and ongoing.

Local 10 News has made an attempt to obtain a mugshot of the accused, Warren, from BSO.
