The incident took place after 1:30 a.m., when officers were dispatched to the 8800 block of East 10th Street following a report of a single-vehicle accident, according to FOX59.
Upon police arrival, they discovered two individuals, a man and a woman; the woman had been ejected from the car and was then transported to an area hospital in critical condition, unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries while the male driver managed to get out of the car on his own and was reported as "awake & breathing," he was also taken to the hospital for further evaluation, preliminary investigations revealed the car was traveling eastbound on East 10th Street when it collided with a power pole subsequently causing the car to overturn and flip back across the roadway, according to FOX59.
Further details provided by WISH-TV suggest that the vehicle careened off the road, hitting a culvert that led to the catastrophic crash, the female passenger, after being ejected from the accident, was tragically declared dead after arriving at the hospital, while the male driver's current condition post-accident is awake and breathing.
