Buffalo Grove, a suburb of Chicago, experienced a significant fire this past Saturday that has left several people without homes. According to ABC7 Chicago, the blaze erupted shortly before 12:30 p.m. at a townhome located in the 300-block of Le Parc Circle, quickly spreading to five adjacent units.
All affected homes were deemed uninhabitable, with the property damage escalating to nearly $1 million. As fire crews fought the inferno, one firefighter was injured. Interestingly, none of the residents were present when the fire tore through their living spaces, but two felines were found and subsequently rescued from the calamity, as reported by FOX 32 Chicago.
From the initial 911 call to the containment of the destructive flames, Buffalo Grove fire officials have noted that the operation spanned an hour.
One firefighter who suffered a minor injury while responding to the fire is reported to have received treatment. Fortunately, the cats rescued during the incident are alive and under care.
