The Eastside Climate Partnership (ECP) has unveiled Solarize Eastside, which aims to boost the adoption of solar energy in local residences and businesses. The six-city collaboration includes Redmond, Bellevue, Issaquah, Kirkland, Mercer Island, and Sammamish. Participating owners can sign up for a complimentary solar assessment through July 4 at SolarizeEastside.org, a program dedicated to simplifying solar installation at a more affordable rate.
Announced recently, this initiative allows interested parties to obtain a detailed solar proposal from a partner installer, which then can be followed up with scheduled installation dates. A statement obtained by the Issaquahwa.gov civic alert details, "Puget Sound Cooperative Credit Union is offering program participants special financing to help reduce panel costs."
Solarly equiped buildings gain reduced energy bills and the capacity to earn credits through net metering, a system that compensates for the surplus energy fed back into the grid. This arrangement offers customers the sweet prospect of a reduced fixed monthly energy expense balanced by their generated solar power.
Ironing out the wrinkles involved with solar panel installation, the Solarize Eastside program partners with recognized local installers like Sunergy Systems and Solterra Solar. Participants can make well-informed decisions, assisted by staff who help interpret proposals and walk them through the installation process, ensuring transparency. Free workshops planned for locations such as Blakely Hall in March and the Issaquah Public Library in May, detailed on their website, are designed to provide further insight into the solar landscape.
Community members interested in sustainable change are encouraged to engage with the expected benefits and logistics of solar adoption at these events. By visiting SolarizeEastside.org, they can unearth details about workshop locations and program specifics or dial up additional information at 360-481-4020.
