
Tragedy struck earlier today on Interstate 74 in Decatur County, where a collision resulted in the death of one individual. WTHR reported that the accident occurred around 7 a.m. near the 133 mile-marker, close to Greensburg. An alert from the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) noted the fatal outcome of the crash, as informed by the Decatur County Sheriff's Department.

The Greensburg Police Department and the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene at approximately 4:45 a.m., where the harrowing discovery was made. Subsequent to the crash, all lanes were temporarily closed off to traffic.
The driver of the tractor-trailer remained at the site and has been cooperating with law enforcement. WISH-TV reported that Indiana State Police crash reconstructionists are currently at the scene investigating the cause of the collision. Chief McNealy stated that the truck driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police. Ongoing cleanup efforts led to the closure of the right lane of eastbound I-74 and the entrance ramp from U.S. 421 to eastbound I-74, which were still closed as of 8:30 a.m.
